Brian Herbert is the Director of Crowdmap, a service giving people everywhere a platform to tell their stories.
Ushahidi made a huge impact on him when it was being used to map incidents during post-election violence in Kenya in early 2008. He grew from a volunteer to a full time staff member in his current role. Herbert will take part in the PfC break-out session Documenting Violence on 20th March.
Before falling in love with Ushahidi, Herbert was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, developed back-end services at the Ghanaian company Esoko and performed web maintenance at CNET. He received his MBA from Kennesaw State University and a BSc in Computer Information Systems from Bellarmine University.
